5 doramas that adapted classic movies and series from other countries

Check out some doramas that have been inspired by famous movies and series from other countries, and you also need marathon

Nowadays, the K-Dramas, popularly known by Brazilians as South Korean doramas, has increasingly gained international audiences. In addition to having original plots, many productions are also inspired by webtoons, manga, books, or even other famous series released in the West.

With that in mind, Recreio has separated a list of 5 doramas that are film adaptations and series from other countries you need to watch. Check it out!

1. La Paper House – Korea

Starred by Kim Yunjin, Kim Sung-Oh, Yoo Ji-Tae and JANG HYUN-SUNG“La Casa de Papel – Korea” is based on the 5 seasons Spanish series released in 2017, “La Casa de Papel”, one of Netflix’s most watched non -English series.

In the South Korean version, North Korea and South Korea are a unified country and are working on creating a new currency. The problem is that with this process the rich became even richer while the poor face even more difficulty in poverty. To change reality, the teacher (Yoo Ji Tae) begins to plan one of the greatest robberies of all time that promises to revolutionize the world of crime.


2. 18 Again

Available at Viki, in “18 Again” adapts the events of the 2009 film “17 Again”, starring Zac Efron and Matthew Perrywhere the renowned actors live the character Mike O’Donnel-who got the name of Hong Dae Young in the South Korean version, being lived by Hyun Leeand Yoon Sang Hyun.

Basically, the two plots present the same story and have similar proposals, accompanying the lives of a family full of problems, with parents separating as they need to deal with teenage children and increasingly away from their father. In Korea’s adaptation, Hong Dae Young gets a new chance to connect with her children when she returned to her body when she was 18, while maintaining a 37 mindset. For this, he tries to act as a normal teenager, and adopts Go Woo Young’s disguise while seeking to save his family from separation.


3. WOORI THE VIRGIN

“Woori the Virgin” is based on the American series “Jane the Virgin”, originally released in 2014 by the broadcaster The CW, with 5 seasons in total.

Also with very similar stories, in the South Korean version we follow Woori Oh, a young girl who is in a great phase of her life, with a passionate boyfriend and a great job, who sees her life turning upside down after a medical appointment. This is because, instead of performing a routine appointment, the girl ends up undergoing artificial insemination by mistake and pregnant. The situation gets even more complicated after she found that the donor was Raphael, CEO of Diamond Cosmetics, with whom Woori has a curious past.


4. Suits

Being one of the most successful legal dramas on American TV, the original version of “Suits” has 9 seasons, and was one of the last works of Meghan Marklethe Duchess of Sussex, before marrying the prince Harryheir to the British throne.

In the South Korean version, which is not available for streaming in Brazil, but in other countries it can be found on Netflix, we follow the life of Choi Kang Seok (Jang Dong Gun), a renowned lawyer who ends up betting everything on Go Yeon Woo (Park Hyung Sik), a novice lawyer who has no diploma but promises to help in important cases thanks to his impressive photographic memory.


5. Criminal Minds

Originally released in 2005, “Criminal Minds” is one of the most successful police series in the United States, with 18 seasons in total, and about 344 episodes, which are currently available on the Disney+streaming platform.

The South Korea version, however, was not so successful. Launched in 2017, the TVN -produced series has only one season, and is not available for streaming. The work presents practically the same stories of American production, and accompanies a criminal investigation team trying to unravel a case of serial murder.
