With members still in the army; Find out when the long awaited BTS comeback gathering RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook
Following the release of the anthology “Proof”, which released in 2022 brings together three group albums and several tracks that are already part of BTS history, the group ended up in temporary hiatus so that Kim Nam-Joon (RM), Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Min yoon-gi (Suga), Jung Ho-SOK (J-HOPE), Park Ji-Min (Jimin), Kim Tae-Hyung (V) and Jeon Jung-Kook (Jungkook) could fulfill a mandatory task for all South Korean men: to serve the army.
Two of them were already dismissed from military enlistment. Jinthe group’s oldest member, was the first, as he began service on December 13, 2022 and was able to return home on June 12 last year. He was followed by J-hope,, after enlisting April 18, 2023, it served 18 months in the Armed Forces until the dismissal on October 17, 2024.
Still missing Rom and Vthat can leave the military base on June 10, 2025, and Jungkook and Jiminwhich come out on June 11 of the same year, besides Sugawhich serves as a public servant and must perform 21 months of service, thus having the expected dismissal for June 21, 2025.
With a few months for the full septate to be free from obligations as military, the question arises: When will the full group comeback happen? After all, it is almost three years without new performances and songs from BTS.
The long -awaited comeback
When the formation was preparing to go to the army, the agency responsible for the group, Bighit Music had stated in a statement that the forecast is for the group to go to the stage in 2025, as it is all members have free agendas from the second half.
“Both BTS members and members are eager to meet again as a group around 2025, following their service commitment,” the company said.
The idea was that the return celebrated the 10th anniversary of the albums of the ‘Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa’ series, formed by the “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 1, 2, and Young Forever” records, promoted between April 2015 and May 2016.
“We talked about how 2025 would be the year when most of our members would complete their service, and it is also the monumental year where ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life would be ten years old, so we’ll probably be able to do something. I think we will try to keep that promise,” he said Rom In the first episode of the new program Suga‘Suchwita’.
However, the possibility was never officially confirmed and, in November last year, at an event for the record label shareholders, the Hybe CFO Lee Kyung Joonhe said (via omelet) that he would be in discussion the Comeback of the group to happen a little later: in 2026.
“We are in discussions with members at the moment to get group activities right in 2026. BTS’s return as a complete group would bring many profits to the label, but we believe the growth of other popularity artists around the world are increasingly contributing to our progression as a company,” said the executive.
The plan was again discussed on March 31 when, at the general annual meeting with Hybe shareholders (via Koreaboo), Lee Jae SangCEO of the conglomerate, updated the entrepreneurs about the future of BTS after the military dismissal, stating that the artists will need time to prepare for the return.
“BTS members are scheduled to complete military service by the end of the first half of this year, and will need time to prepare and work on their return activities later. The company is preparing arguing with first -rate composers, but the artists themselves also need time for careful consideration and preparation,” said the CEO.
At the same time, it was revealed that it is still in planning what will be done after all of them are willing to return to active as idol. Lee Jae Sang He said: “The artists work on songs, release albums and then tour. However, as BTS has already reached the level of one of the best global artists, we are continually discussing their vision and future plans. It’s important to determine and carefully align the direction going forward.”
