Mstislav Chernov’s documentary on battles for Andreevka received a reward at the CPH: Dox Festival in Denmark.
Documentary 2000 meters to Andreevka Ukrainian director Mstislav Chernov won the category Award F: ACT award in the CPH movie documentary: Dox in Denmark.
As the jury mentioned, this movie not only organizes one of the most cruel stages of war, but also one is a true masterpiece of the cinema, resembling the Western Front without changes.
“It’s not the first world, it’s now. The ignorance of the war, as well as its worrying poem is whole. The actress who belongs to bloodshed restores the truth at home and makes an anti -war film that makes us think about the uniqueness of every lost human life,” the jury said.
The tape documented events in September 2023, when the Ukrainian military of the 3 -separate Airborne Assault Brigade released Andreevka’s village near Bakhmut. Chernov, along with the Frontline and Associated Press Team, recorded every step of the operation for a year and a half.
Mstislav Chernov noted that this award was an important signal for support for Ukrainian filmmakers: “This is a difficult time for Ukraine. This is a difficult time for Ukrainian films. But for now we are fighting for reality, for safety, for our stories that will never be forgotten.
In CPH: DOX Festival, 71 films in six nominations were presented. DOX’s main prize: the award has received the always tape deming chen – a chronicle of a farmer’s family life.
Earlier it was reported that the film director of the Mariupol Mstislav Chernov was invited to become a member of the American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.
