Sometimes CL and G-Dragon peaked ‘The Leaders’

Remember other times that CL, 2NE1 leader, and Bigbang leader G-Dragon took the stage to present the track ‘The Leaders’ together

In the mid-2000s, YG Entertainment was responsible for launching two of the largest groups of the second generation K-pop: Bigbang and 2NE1. In addition to releasing hits such as “I Am The Best”, “Bang Bang Bang”, “Fire”, “Fantastic Baby” and more, the two sets were also important to revolutionize the K-Pop industry.

This is because, thanks to Bigbang, trends such as lightsticks and hair shift with each Comeback became even more popular, while 2NE1 became the name responsible for popularizing the concept of “Girl Crush”, featuring more sorry and “bad girl” women – something that was distanced from the popular concept of the time, which was focused on cute things.

Beyond the talent of all members, the leaders of both formations, G-Dragon and CLthey also gained prominence due to their strong personalities inside and off stage. Being great friends behind the scenes, in 2009, GD led fans crazy about releasing a song that reflected the fame of YG leaders, with the participation of CL and Teddyformer member and leader of 1TYM and current producer of the company.

In the lyrics, the trio extols the success of its formations, in verses such as: “I walk with confidence / My future is bright / I let you look at our high rankings / Keep looking at my feet” and “We, we are, we are the leaders / You’re not even in the game / are just cheering animators.”

Since its launch, G-Dragon has already made a point of bringing the music to the stage with the special participation of CL On four occasions: at “Shine a Light Tour” in 2009; During the “One of a Kind” tour in 2013; In “Act III: Motte Tour”, in 2017; and in 2025, at the beginning of his latest übermensch tour.
