In recent podcast, original producer of the animation ‘Witch’ revealed that meetings to discuss a possible live-action reboot are being held
Initially launched as comic in 2001, “Witch” became a 2004 animation series due to its huge success among international readers. Production follows the lives of five teenagers who have powers linked to nature who become guardians of the veil and are now charged with protecting the world from the terrible villain Meridian.
Created by Italians Elisabetta Gnone, Alessandro Barbucci and Barbara Canepathe animation featured only two seasons, made up of 52 episodes, being aired in Brazil on TV open by Rede Globo broadcaster, during the shows “TV Globinho” and “TV Xuxa”, and on the channel Pago Jetix, operated by Walt Disney Company until 2009.
“Witch” remained on display until 2008, and today has its episodes available on Youtube. However, 17 years after its closure, the drawing can gain a live-action reboot.
In an interview with the Radical Retro Rewind Podcast?!, The producer and writer Trey Callawaywho worked in the first season of the animation, revealed that a great friend of yours has been with Disney meetings in Los Angeles to discuss a possible reboot of the story starring Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin.
“A dear writer friend, who I can’t reveal the name at this point because I don’t want to break your trust, has participated in a series of Disney meetings that are now happening about a reboot live-action of the series. So be aware of more information,” Callaway revealed.

During the conversation, Tray He also stated that he is surprised that Disney has not yet made a “Witch” live-action, taking into account that the story has features that please the studio, but it is happy that new steps are being taken to make the adaptation happen.
