Considered to be one of the best -selling video games in history, with over 300 million copies sold, the “Minecraft” franchise has won a huge legion of fans around the world, uniting admirers of the most different ages.
The success was such that the game became inspiration for a live-action movie, which has been planned since 2014, with the starting premiere in 2019. However, the recordings only really started in 2023, and had to be paused due to the strike of the actors that happened in the same year, resulting in the backwardness of the release.
Titled “A Minecraft Movie”, the work will follow four misfit after crossing a mysterious portal that takes them to Overworld, a cubic universe full of creatures and challenges, where they will have the leadership and help of an expert level artisan.
Starred by Jason Momoa (Garrett), Jack Black (Steve), Emma Myers (Natalie), Danielle Brooks (Dawn) and Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Henry), in the plot, the quintet will have to work as a team to face a threat that puts this world in danger, and do everything to survive.
Although the movie brings an unprecedented story, the work will feature a series of references to the game, with the presence of characters and items that can be easily recognized by players, including Nether, Creepers, Ghasts, Piglins, Skeletons, the famous Emerald helmet and, of course, Steve, a character created by Markus Persson In 2009, which has the most famous skin in the game.
