Ador reveals that a decision to stop the activities of NJZ (Newjeans) was taken exclusively by the group members
On Monday, 24, the ador issued a statement on the decision of the NJZ (Newjeans) of pausing the group’s career, revealed by members last weekend during a presentation at Complexcon in Hong Kong, which came after the court decision that the training could no longer perform activities independently.
This is because, on March 21, the Central District Court of Seoul granted the adoring request for an injunction to prohibit Newjeans members from performing independent activities under the name NJZ, causing the ador to remain managing the group until the end of the process.
After the decision, the group also performed at Complexcon under the name NJZ, where they debuted the song “Pit Stop” and sold products with the new name. But still at the event, they revealed that they would no longer go to the stage or perform any other activities such as a group temporarily, leading the ador to comment on what happened saying that the group’s choice was made “unilaterally”.
See the full statement:
“We consider it profoundly unfortunate that, despite the court’s decision, Newjeans continued to present itself with a different name from Newjeans and unilaterally announced that it would interrupt its activities.
According to the valid exclusive contract of the ador, we would like to do the most of the Newjeans.
We hope to be able to meet the artist as soon as possible and discuss their future. “
The judicial process, which will have the first hearing held on April 3, aims to affirm or cancel the validity of contracts between the group and agency after Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein Communicating in November last year that they would not continue to have their career managed by the ador after alleged contractual violations that would involve allegations of poor management, bullying in the workplace and media defamation.
The case is still underway.
