5 doramas that did not please the public

With the rise of Hallyu, the “Korean wave” that took works from South Korea beyond the country’s border and won audiences from around the world, it was possible to know the K-Dramas, better known as South Korean doramas, that is, the fictional productions that appear in the series for TV with various genres and premises.

These titles even helped make during the first half of last year, the content in other languages ​​represented almost a third of all views on Netflix, among these are “Queen of Tears”, which accumulated 29 million views, “Parasite: The Gray” with 25 million, and “my favorite demon” reaching 18 million.

Despite their success, some titles did not please the public so much, reaching low levels of audience when they aired; Meet 5 of them:

1. Never Give Up (Never give up)

Airs by Ena in 2022, “Never Give Up” (never gives up) follows the unlikely connection of the former middle-aged boxer who became the owner of a Goo Pil Soo chicken store (KWAK OF WON) and the young Jung Suk application developer (Highlight Doojoon). The 16 episodes were broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays and the average audience was 0.958%, with the worst range in the debut, reaching only 0.45% of spectators in South Korea.

The synopsis says: A young businessman will live in the house of a puiot, where he finds the unusual friendship of a middle-aged head of household.

The drama can be seen on Netflix.

2. Idol: The Coup

What to do when the dreamed debut in the k-pop industry becomes a failure? To avoid dissolution, desperate attempts to disappoint may be necessary as “Idol: The Coup” showing the unfolding of the history of Cotton Candy, a group of female idols that ended up not achieving success, but has members willing to do everything to stay together and achieve a place of prestige in the world of music.

The idea, however, did not please the audience even though it has in the cast names like Hani from exid, Solbin from Laboum, Han So Eun, Exy WJSN (Cosmic Girls), Kim Ji Won, Kwak si yang and Kim Min Kyusince the average audience was 0.601%, and episode 7 was the lowest in performance among the 12 released, with 0.354% when it aired by JTBC.

3. Imitation (imitation)

Just behind “Love All Play” as the lowest audience of a drama aired on open TV every Wednesday and Thursday, “Oh My Ladylord” has a 0.9% range in chapter 12, but the overall average is 1.6% audience in all episodes that aired by MBC.

The story that addresses the romance between a screenwriter and an actress who has no luck in love, but end up living a turnaround when they become roommates.

5. Love All Play

Also from KBS2, “Love All Play” is a drama of sports romance that, following a male protagonist and a female main character, who play in mixed pairs, shows the passion for Badminton, a sport played with the use of rackets where the steering wheel or pity should pass over a network.

The production aired every Wednesday and farms and came to an end with 16 episodes. Despite having started with 1.9%, Dorama had the lowest peak of all time “on open TV, as reflected by the Koreaboo portal, also reaching the 0.9% mark in one of the episodes even in prime time. The overall average was 1.4%.
