Get to know the 5 animated movies that can win Oscar this year

Remember that the animation, which has no dialogues and uses real animal sounds to tell the story, also competes for the best international film. The story beat the Golden Globe and the Annie Awards.

2. Fun Mind 2

From Disney and Pixar, “Fun Mind 2”, from the sequence to the events of the 2019 movie. Now, following Riley entering adolescence, the plot unfolds after the girl’s feelings control room is invaded by four new emotions: Anxiety, Envy, shame and boredom, which will bring problems for joy, disgusting, sadness, anger and fear.

It turns out that Riley will have to deal with two major problems, after all, besides finding that her two best friends will no longer study at the same school as her, she also needs to strive to join the hockey team and make new friends. With such pressure, anxiety dominates the control room and puts the quintet of base emotions in danger as they explore other parts of Riley’s head so that all emotions can live in harmony.

3. Memories of a snail

Director Adam Elliotwho won Oscar for best animation short film for the movie “Harvie Krumpet” in 2004, “Memories of a Caracol” is made in Claymation, a Stop Motion strand that works with modeling mass characters, and took 8 years to get ready.

The director, known for presenting tragic narratives and characters who do not fit the standards of society, does not escape the pattern in this work, as it tells the story of Grace Pudel since childhood, who collects snails and lives alone after great trauma of the past. However, her life ends up gaining another meaning when she meets an elderly lady and desire to live.

4. Wallace and Gromit: Avenue

Bafta 2025 winner, “Wallace and Gomit: Avenue” accompanies Wallace after he creates a ‘intelligent’ gnome that seems to develop a mind of his own. Things end up getting out of control and Wallace is accused of a series of suspicious crimes, while a vengeful figure of the past surfaces, causing the Gomit dog to go into the scene to try to save his tutor’s life.

The story, also produced in Stop Motion, is a creation of the British director Nick Parkwhich has already received four Oscar statuettes.

5. Wild robot

Produced by Dreamworks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures, “Wild Robot” features Roz, a load ship from Universal Dynamics, which ends up wrecking a uninhabited island. Now, in a hostile environment, she will have to learn to live in the jungle and gain the confidence of animals that live there, while learning to take care of an orphan -goose puppy.

The animation beat Annie Awards and Critics Choice Awards 2025.
