Ancient Theory of One Piece about iconic character is confirmed in manga

With launch of the latest chapter of One Piece’s manga, fans of the plot see one of the classic theories about Shanks confirmed; look!

The more than 20 years of the successful work of Eiichiro Oda,One Piece, the manga first published in Japan in July 1997 and expanded to many formats, such as games, animated movies and live-action, TV series and even anime allows fans to create various theories around From history.

The plot that accompanies Luffy and his crew, known as Straw Hats, has unpublished chapters released every week, and with the latest debut, an old speculation around one of the most enigmatic characters in manga, Captain Shanks, is confirmed.

Shanks have a twin?

Known as ‘redhead’, Shanks, is one of four emperors who dominate the new world and leader of the Ruivo pirates. The character, who is also a great inspiration for Luffy since his childhood, has always maintained an air of mystery, which encouraged several theories over the years. Among them, the idea that Shanks would have a twin brother seemed absurd, but recent events suggest that this hypothesis may be closer to reality than many imagined.

The turnaround took place in manga chapter 1137, in which the existence of Shamrock Figarland, a World Government nobleman and Saint Figarland Garling’s son, was revealed. Shamrock is the leader of the Holy Knights, a group that now plays an important role in World Government plans. The detail that shocked readers was Shamrock’s appearance: he is practically identical to Shanks, except for the scar on his face and right arm, which Shanks lost in the past. In addition, Shamrock has longer hair, but his resemblance to the emperor is undeniable.

The revelation adds layers of mystery to the past of Shanks, which had already raised suspicions after an enigmatic conversation with the five elders during the Reverie. At the time, Shanks mentioned an unknown pirate, generating speculation about a possible betrayal or collaboration with the world government. Now, with Shamrock’s appearance, fans wonder what the true relationship between the two is.

Would they be Shanks and Shamrock twin brothers? Or was Shanks a clone, resulting from the scientific advances of Vegapunk? The Figarland family apparently plays a significant role in the political power of One Piece’s world, suggesting that the origin of the redhead can be even more complex than imagined.

With Shamrock assuming a central role in World Government conflicts and his attempt to force Prince Loki forcibly, he is likely to become a direct opponent of Luffy’s crew. On the other hand, this revelation relieved fans who were afraid that Shanks was a hidden villain designed to face Luffy in the future.

It is still unclear how much the character knows about his possible connection with the Figarland family or how he intends to deal with this situation. However, the story continues to surprise and promises great confrontations while the search for One Piece approaches the climax.

The One Piece anime is available on various platforms, including Crunchyroll, Max, as well as the live-action is also present in the Netflix catalog with Toei Animation animation.
