Today, a South Korean outlet published messages between Min Hee Jin and the uncle of one of the NewJeans members about the Ministry of Employment and Labor
This Thursday, the 16th, the Chosun Biz portal published an article revealing that it had access to an alleged conversation from September last year on Telegram between Min Hee Jinformer CEO of ADOR, and the uncle of one of the members of NewJeans, where they talked about the Ministry of Employment and Labor, in the same period as the complaint of Hanni about bullying at work.
Moments after the report was released, Hee Jin used Instagram’s Stories tool to reveal a series of screenshots with messages sent by the reporter responsible for the publication, asking for a statement from the businesswoman.
“Hello, this is Chosun Biz reporter Jang Woo Jung. I’m leaving a message because it’s early in the morning. I obtained the conversation between you and a NewJeans member’s uncle from September 14, 2024 and reported on it. It’s about the Ministry of Employment and Labor. If you have a rebuttal on this, I’d like to add it. I will await your response”, says the reporter in the published print.
In addition to the journalist’s message, Hee Jin also published its response, claiming that the article is “false and full of speculation”, asking for the report to be removed and an apology to be made.
“Hello, you have been reporting fake news daily. I have some questions for you. I don’t know the government official and I never requested or ordered anything. The article is completely false and full of speculation.
If you had seen the entire conversation with the uncle, you would know that he contacted me suddenly and that there was no related conversation that day, as well as before and after that day. I’m not the keynote speaker, but I was getting the recommendation.
Like the last article, the conversation was edited with off-topic content and written as if the content behind it had any basis.
If you had read the conversation the next day, you would know that the situation was completely opposite. I find this a serious violation of journalistic ethics, as you intentionally wrote as if I were the speaker and the target of misunderstanding. You also wrote the last article based on false facts and speculation.
Writing articles with unsubstantiated content without confirmation makes me suspect that the media outlet received bribes from HYBE. And instead of asking me for a rebuttal, shouldn’t you have checked before publishing? I wonder if it’s ok for a reporter to slander normal citizens like that. I think you should delete the article and apologize to me.”
So far, the Chosun Biz portal and the reporter have not yet commented on what happened.
