ARRIVING! The first trailer for the new k-drama “Newtopia”, a zombie thriller, starring Jisoomember of BLACKPINK, and actor Park JungMinin addition to the release of the series’ new poster, creating more expectations for fans.
The trailer brings the essence of the series, with a soundtrack alternating between classical, dark and happy music, providing the playful and characteristic atmosphere of the plot. In it we can also observe a little of the dynamics and personality of the main characters, in addition to showing the fights against zombies and the unusual defenses that each one encounters during the plot, making explicit the action environment that is promised.

Plot
The plot takes place in an alternative Seoul, based on the novel by the South Korean author Han Sangwoon, “Influenza”, and will tell the story of the couple Young Joo (Jisoo) and her boyfriend who is serving in the military, Jae Yoon (Park Jungmin), who after a fight, end up spending some time apart. However, when an unknown virus that turns everyone into a zombie spreads across the city, the two will do anything to reunite and stay alive.
The series explores the dangerous situations that soldiers face on a military base, where their unit is located and zombies take control, increasing the adrenaline of the episodes. Meanwhile, his girlfriend is on the streets of Gangnam, facing the threat of having the gang of zombies approaching her. The story is intended to make viewers wonder if the couple, whose bond grows stronger despite the distance, will survive together until the end.
The production, which has been highly anticipated by BLACKPINK fans, is also awaited by critics as it features big names behind the scenes, such as Han Jinwonscreenwriter of the Oscar-winning film, “Parasite”, and who also wrote the script for the new k-drama, alongside Ji Hojin (A Shop for Killers).
“Newtopia” premieres this Tuesday, 7th, on Prime Video.
