Competing against films like “Moana 2”, “Inside Out 2” and “Wild Robot”, the Latvian film, “Flow”, was the big winner of the Golden Globe
Last Sunday, the 5th, the 82nd edition of the Golden Globes took place, an important award responsible for honoring the main releases of global cinema and television in the last year, being internationally known as an “Oscar thermometer”.
In addition to Fernanda Torres make history by becoming the first Brazilian to win the award for Best Actress in a Drama Film for “Still I’m Here”, a national film that tells the real story of the deputy’s disappearance Rubens Paiva during the military dictatorship in the 1970s, under the direction of Walter Sallesanother award that surprised us was Best Animation.
This is because, this year, the big winner was the Latvian production, “Flow”, a film without lines that follows the story of the Cat, a lonely animal who lives in a world that seems to be coming to an end, and needs to seek refuge in a boat that is inhabited by several animals of other species.
The film, which was a success among specialized critics and already has a series of nominations for important awards, won the competition against five other major competitors: “Moana 2”, “Inside Out 2”, “Wallace & Gromit: Revenge of the Birds ”, “Memoirs of a Snail” and “Wild Robot”.
Known as an “Oscar thermometer”, in recent years, the winners of the “Best Animated Feature” category at the Golden Globes were also awarded at the main international cinema awards, among them, we have: “Soul”, “Encanto”, “Pinocchio ” and “The Boy and the Crane”.
It is worth remembering that, to date, “Flow” is not yet available in Brazil. According to information from Omelete, the animation will debut in Brazilian cinemas on January 30th. Watch the trailer!
