BTS’s J-Hope donated a large sum of money to support victims of the tragic plane crash that rocked South Korea
J-Hopemember of BTS, once again demonstrated his commitment to humanitarian actions by donating 100 million won (approximately 419.1 thousand reais, at current exchange rates) to support families affected by the tragic Jeju Air accident at Muan International Airport. The accident, which occurred on December 29, left 179 dead and only two survivors among the 181 passengers and crew on board.
The donation was made on January 2nd through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, an organization the rapper is part of as a member of the ‘Honors Club’, recognizing major donors. The artist expressed his condolences in a statement:
“I decided to contribute to helping grieving families deal with this unimaginable pain. My deepest condolences to the victims and their families.”
The general secretary of Hope Bridge, Shin Hoonthanked for the generosity of J-Hopestating that the donation will be transmitted in full to the impacted families. In addition, it highlighted the artist’s history in humanitarian aid campaigns, including his contribution to flood victims in 2023.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to investigate the tragedy, which occurred when the plane’s landing gear failed during landing, resulting in a skid that ended in a collision with a concrete barrier and fire. The international community remains in mourning, with the action of J-Hope being a powerful reminder of solidarity in times of crisis.
Return to the stage
After completing his mandatory military service in October 2023, J-Hope is ready to resume his artistic career with a new series of solo performances. The artist, known for his energy and creativity on stage, will kick off his “HOPE ON THE STAGE” tour at Seoul’s KSPO Dome at the end of February. This return marks a moment awaited by fans, who will once again be able to celebrate the talent and dedication of the BTS member on his journey as a global idol.
