Director of ‘Round 6’ justifies TOP casting: ‘A lot of effort and talent’

The long-awaited second season of ‘Round 6’ has finally arrived on Netflix, bringing back the exciting plot of deadly competitions and new characters that promise to increase the tension even further.

The plot continues to follow Gi-hun, the protagonist of the previous season, as he gets involved in new plot twists and tries to put an end to the sinister game. Joining the new season are brand-new contestants, each with their own stories and motivations, ready to defy death in the world’s most dangerous game.

Among the new faces, the former BIGBANG member stands out, TOPwho debuts in the second season of the K-drama playing one of the contestants, bringing his charm and mystery to the role. However, his participation generated controversy, especially due to the case of drug abuse, something that attracted criticism from part of the public.

In an interview, the director of the series, Hwang Dong-hyukexplained his choice of the rapper for the role, highlighting the artist’s dedication and his perseverance during the audition process.

“We scrutinized him a lot. He showed strong will and also went through auditions. We asked him to send a tape, and he sent a video that he worked hard to make of him acting. Whenever he showed signs of instability in readings, we We looked again, and he showed a lot of effort and talent. He’s also an actor I’ve had my eye on since the past,” he said. Hwang.

Despite the criticism, the director stated that the decision to keep him in the cast was confirmed by the final result: “We decided that we had no choice but to prove to the viewers through the final result why this character and work had to go to TOP“

The presence of TOP in the series generated divided reactions on social media. Many fans questioned his participation, considering his track record, while others argue that he deserves the chance to showcase his talent. Even so, the tension over his presence in the series does not diminish enthusiasm for the continuation of ‘Round 6’, which continues to attract fans from all over the world.
