Netflix has announced a sequel to the cult comedy Happy Gilmore starring Adam Sandler.
The streaming service Netflix has published the first teaser for the comedy Happy Gilmore 2, in which Adam Sandler once again plays the lead role. The video appeared on the platform’s official YouTube channel.
“Happy Gilmore 2. Coming soon, only on Netflix,” noted the teaser description, indicating that the film will not be released in theaters and will be available on the platform immediately.
The less than minute teaser gives a glimpse of the main characters of the sequel. In addition to Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen, who became audience favorites after the first part, return to their roles.
The original Happy Gilmore was released in 1996. The film tells the story of a failed hockey player who finds his calling in golf, and his atypical playing style brings him fame.
Happy Gilmore 2 is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
