New details about the look of Hiccup and Astrid, played by Mason Thames and Nico Parker appear in an image from ‘How to Train Your Dragon’
Last Sunday, the 22nd, Universal Pictures revealed a new image from the live-action remake of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ in which Mason Thames (The Black Phone) and Nico Parker (The Last of Us) appear prominently characterized as Hiccup and Astrid; look:
What will the live-action of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ be like?
Adaptation of the animated franchise of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, the new production should follow the same story as the first film, released in 2010, which follows Hiccup, a Viking who ends up defying the local tradition of battles between men and dragons by befriending with Toothless, a Light Fury who proves that humans and these powerful mythological beings can live in harmony.
Announced in 2023, the version in which Vikings and dragons come to life through real actors and the use of CGI began to take shape on January 15th of this year, which was when the start of recording was confirmed, bringing not only Nico and Masonas well as Gerard Butlerwho voiced the protagonist’s father, Stoick, in the animated trilogy, returning to give life to the same character in live-action, and Nick Frost like Gobber.
There are still Julian Denisson (Deadpool 2) as Fishlegs Ingerman, Gabriel Howell (Bodies) in the skin of Snotlout Jorgenson, Harry Trevaldwyn (The Bubble) as Header Thorston, Bronywin James (Wicked) in the role of Hothead Thorston and the tiktoker Ruth Codd playing a Viking named Phlegma in the cast.
Dean DeBloiswho directed and wrote the three animated films, also returns to direct the live-aciton whose premiere, which was previously scheduled to take place on March 14, 2025, was postponed to a new date: June 13, 2025. The plot will premiere directly in cinemas.
