Check out the five most watched k-dramas in Brazil by subscribers of the Viki streaming platform
The year 2024 is already coming to an end and, with that, the year-end lists of different vehicles and services are already being published. Recently, the streaming service Rakuten Viki, specializing in Asian productions, revealed which were the most watched K-dramas by its almost 11 million users in Brazil.
See five of the South Korean dramas that were most successful among Brazilians on Rakuten Viki!
1. Family by Choice
Synopsis: “Although they are not related, Kim Sanha (Hwang In Youp), Yoon Juwon (Jung Chaeyeon) and Kang Haejun (Bae Hyeonseong) were raised together by Jeongjae (Choi Won Young), Juwon’s father, and Daeuk (Choi Moo Sung), Sanha’s father, who did their best to provide the trio with a happy childhood despite their past traumas. As adults, Sanha and Haejun go after their biological families, making Juwon feel abandoned. Ten years later, the three meet again, but things are no longer the same. Now, they will have to learn to forget the hurts of the past, and the boys will have to deal with the feelings they have for Juwon.”
2. Modern Cinderella
Synopsis: “Responsible for taking care of her little brother alone, Ha Yun Seo (Shin Hyun Been) always had to give his all. Now, she works as a marketing manager at a credit card company, but her life takes a turn for the worse when she discovers that her boyfriend, Seo Ju Won (Moon Sang Min), is the heir to the family that owns the company. When Ju Won’s mother finds out who her son’s girlfriend is, she offers Yun Seo money to end the relationship, and Yun Seo accepts. However, Ju Won is determined to win her back, and nothing can stop him from following his heart. Now, the two will have to face several obstacles to have their fairytale love.”
3. Another Chance to Love
Synopsis: “In his senior year of high school, Lee Hong Ju (Kim So Hyun) fell madly in love. However, this first contact with love ended up leaving his heart broken. Since then, she has become extremely insecure about everything that concerns love. After a decade, she now works as an animation producer and, as fate would have it, ends up meeting her old love Hu Yeong (Chae Jong Hyeop), a 29-year-old financial planner who just returned from the United States. With this chance, both will have to deal with the wave of emotions and insecurities that they have been harboring for years.”
4. My Favorite Mobster
Synopsis: “Despite having been arrested in the past, Seo Ji Hwan (A Tae Goo) became a successful CEO, but because he is very insecure, he still has to experience what is good in life, or, in other words, true love. That’s about to change when fate brings him face to face with children’s content creator Go Eun Ha (Han Sun Hwa). The unusual couple finds love in an unexpected way, but Eun Ha has a longtime follower, lawyer Jang Hyeon U (Kwon Yool), who is not willing to let her fall in love with someone else so easily.”
5. Lovely Runner
Synopsis: “Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon) is devastated by the sudden and tragic death of her favorite star, Ryu Sun Jae (Byun Woo Seok), a former swimmer turned K-pop idol. However, in the midst of anguish, she magically returns to 2008 when Sun Jae was still just 19 years old. Delighted at the chance to help him avoid a tragic ending, Sol makes it her mission to change the future and try to win his heart. With the chance to change the future it will also become clear that every action has a reaction, and the results can be very different from expectations.”
