Last Wednesday, the 11th, new images were released for the k-drama “Newtopia”, a zombie thriller starring Jisoomember of BLACKPINK, alongside the actor Park Jeongminwhich is scheduled to premiere next year. Check it out!

Plot

“Newtopia” is based on the novel “Influenza”, by the South Korean author Han Sangwoon. The plot will follow the story of Lee Jae-Yoon (Park Jeongmin) and Kang Young-Joo (Kim Jisoo), a couple who, after a fight, end up spending some time apart. However, after an unknown virus that turns everyone into a zombie spreads across Seoul, the two will do anything to reunite and stay alive.

The production, which has been highly anticipated by BLACKPINK fans, is also awaited by critics as it features big names behind the scenes, such as Han Jinwonscreenwriter of the Oscar-winning film, “Parasite”, and who also wrote the script for the new k-drama, alongside Ji Hojin (A Shop for Killers).

Cast

In addition to Jisoo and Jeongmin in the roles of protagonists Kang Yeong Ju and Lee Jae Yun, respectively, the cast also features other great actors, including names like Kim Joon Han, Im Sung Jae, Kim Chang Hyung and Lee Hak Joo.

Premiere date

According to information released by Variety, “Newtopia” will premiere on February 7, 2025, releasing weekly episodes until March 21. In South Korea, the drama will be available through the Coupang Play platform. In Brazil, and in 240 other regions, the K-drama can be watched through Prime Video.
