Disney Channel’s days are numbered in Brazil! This is because, last Monday, the 2nd, it was confirmed that the channel will leave the national catalog of pay TV stations on February 28, 2025, due to low ratings, as well as Star Channel, Cinecanal, FX, National Geographic, Disney Channel and Baby TV, also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

“In response to the transformations in the local media and entertainment landscape, and to ensure that we continue to evolve and meet the needs of our consumers with agility and innovation, we have decided to discontinue the operation of some linear channels in Brazil from February 28, 2025 This decision includes the closure of Star Channel, Cinecanal, FX, National Geographic, Disney Channel and Baby TV, without impacting our sports channels,” Disney said in a statement.

Emerging in 1983, several programs, game shows, series, films and animations were created for the channel’s programming, featuring productions such as “Hannah Montana”, “Sunny Entre Estrelas”, “That’s So Raven”, “High School Musical”, “Camp Rock”, “Gravity Falls: A Summer of Mysteries” and “Phineas and Ferb”, which can now be seen by Brazilian fans on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.
