See what BTS member V has said publicly about his past romantic relationships
Since its emergence in the 90s to the present day, romantic relationships have been a kind of taboo within the K-pop industry. This is because, for a long time, companies sought to present their artists as people who would be available to fans at any time, treating dating as a “distraction” for their careers.
Although, nowadays, the subject is still a bit controversial, it has become increasingly common to see idols assuming their relationships, or even announcing marriages and the birth of their children, as is the case with Hyerimby Wonder Girls; Bobbyfrom iKON; Kahifrom After School; Chenfrom EXO; TaeyangBIGBANG, and much more.
In BTS, for example, although, to date, none of the members have officially committed to dating, the members have become increasingly comfortable over the years in talking about past relationships.
Among the septet, VHe is one of the members who has commented on his love experiences a few times. During an episode of the South Korean program “Rookie King”, for example, the idol recalled his first love, where he said that it was a one-sided love, as the girl did not return his feelings.
During the program “ShimShimTaPa”, presented by Shindongby Super Junior, Taehyung (real name of V), also commented that, when he was little, in the first year, he had some online relationships, through the messaging app SayClub. According to him, at that time, he received many declarations of love through the platform, but no one had the courage to say their feelings in person.
dating rumors
Just like many K-pop idols, V has also been the target of a series of dating rumors, one of the strongest being that with Jenniemember of BLACKPINK, a rumor that has been circulating on the internet since December 2021.
It all started when, that year, the BTS member accidentally followed Jennie on Instagram, but unfollowed immediately afterwards — enough for the information to spread to numerous media outlets around the world.
The following year, in May, rumors about a possible relationship between the artists returned to the internet after a photo taken on the island of Jeju, in South Korea, appeared on social media, with two people similar to the idols together in a car. At the time, YG Entertainment, the company responsible for BLACKPINK, only commented saying “We have nothing to say. We will let you know if we have a different answer.”
Still in 2022, in August, photos of the two together started to be leaked by a hacker, where it was possible to see Jennie and V enjoying your free time.
The last photo of the alleged couple took place in May 2023. At the time, the potential lovebirds were filmed and photographed by paparazzi walking hand in hand in Paris, France. After the images were released, the South Korean portal Sports Seoul asked the agencies responsible for the artists if the recordings were real, however, in response, the companies only said that they did not know the origin because they were about the “artists’ private lives”.
At the time, Koreaboo pointed out that the BLACKPINK member was in France to participate in the Cannes Film Festival, where she would promote her series “The Idol”, on HBO Max. The BTS member would have traveled from Korea directly to France days before the festival, where the two allegedly met. The information has not been officially confirmed.
In December of the same year, the JTBC television network announced that Jennie and V they had ended the relationship, although they never confirmed their involvement publicly. BigHit Music and YG Entertainment have not commented on the matter.
