This technique of applying nail polish and applying nail polish makes it possible to visually “lengthen” them, as demonstrated in this video by an expert manicurist.

There’s no need to resort to tricks for a glamorous manicure when you have short nails. Just polish and polish them the right way to make them look longer and slimmer.

British nail artist Alexandra Teleki (known on social networks under the pseudonym “The Hot Blend”) suggests using the “Italian nail painting” method, considering this popular manicure style in the country. In a video posted on her TikTok and Instagram accounts, the expert reveals how to do this technique “Typically used on short, square nails.”

Thin and lengthen nails

First, the professional begins by threading the tips of his model’s nails to create a neat horizontal line, before doing the same on the other two sides to form a square or rectangle. “You can see the difference after forming them,” he says, revealing the result of this first step.

After shaping, it says to clean the nails with pure acetone. She then applies the first gel polish base before covering it with two additional coats of fir green. Is it the right gesture to extend and refine the nail with a brush stroke? “Get as close to the cuticles as possible without touching the skin. Then draw a vertical line and leave a little gap between the gel and the nail wall,” she reveals. It is this small empty space that creates the illusion of extra length and appears to make the nail thinner in width.

Alexandra Teleki assures that this method can be “used over a classic full-color manicure or tip nail polish.” An easy and affordable tip for everyone to ditch the fake nails this summer and embrace the Italian glamor right down to your fingertips.
