Some types of pastries are less fatty and sweet than others, a nutritionist reveals the best options.
Snacks are not only for children, pastries are also a delight for older children. They should not be used excessively, because their composition is not the healthiest. Although most of them have a large amount of sugar, salt and fat, there is one, whose calorie content is lower than others.
Low lipid concentration
And the big winner is… plain Viennese (and milk bread).Made with bread dough and milk, these pastries both have a lower concentration of lipids (15 grams per 100 gram serving) than others, as nutritionist Florence Foucault explained to us in a previous article. Their neighbors in the window, the croissant or sour raisin, are made with puff pastry and enriched butter, so their calorie content is much higher.
Viennese and milk breads turn out to be the lightest options as long as you eat them plain, no more chocolate chip viennas or milk breads filled with spread or jam.

Moderate consumption
For our health, we should use pastries from time to time, for example, once or twice a week,” said the specialist. The sugar, salt and fat they contain represent significant calories, which is a factor in the development of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. It is enough to go to the bakery with full knowledge of the facts.
