Success on the Max streaming platform, there are already conversations about a possible second season for the Pinguim series
The “Penguin” series, derived from the 2022 film “Batman”, could get a second season. This possibility arises from of preliminary conversations between director Matt Reeves and his production team.
Originally planned as a miniseries, the production aroused great interest and acclaim, which led Reeves to consider new directions for the story. “We are, in a very preliminary way — me, Lauren, [o parceiro de produção de Reeves] Dylan [Clark] and Colin [Farrell]— starting to talk about what the path would be,” he explained to Entertainment Weekly.
Reeves commented on these initial discussions, emphasizing the importance of maintain the high standard established in the first season.
“For me, what’s really important is that we deserve it. The idea of revisiting means we have to maintain the same standard. I know none of us would go back just to do things anyway. We want to go back and do something great. So That’s what we’re talking about now. We believe there will be something there, but it’s just beginning. But it’s very exciting,” Reeves said.
The series
The narrative of “Penguin” unfolds immediately after the events that took place in “Batman”. Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot, known as the Penguin, and the series explores his path towards the power and social prestige he always wanted in Gotham.
Farrell described Cobblepot’s journey as a relentless quest to reach the top of the city’s power hierarchy, facing numerous challenges along the way. In an interview with MovieZine, he highlighted that this rise is not without obstacles.
