Are toys immortal?
Toy Story toys lead their lives as if they were really human, being able to speak, think, or have feelings like us. However, many believe that not all of their abilities would be exactly the same as ours, as there was a theory that they could possibly be immortal.
However, the secret behind the vitality of these objects ended up being revealed on the Twitter of filmmaker Lee Unkrich, who directed the third film in the franchise. Upon seeing two fans arguing about whether the toys could die, the director responded:
“They live as long as they exist. But what if they are completely destroyed? Say, in an incinerator? Game over.”
If they were truly immortal, when destroyed, the toys would remain alive as remains until they were transformed into something else again. In this way, at the end of Toy Story 3, when Woody and his friends were almost incinerated, that really could have been the end of the beloved characters.
