The list includes blockbusters, potential award nominees, as well as some films for mass audiences.
As November begins, blockbusters and award contenders return to theaters and expect high returns at the box office. Rotten Tomatoes names the top five movies of the month.
First Topping the list is Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II, which opens on November 22 and is a sequel to the Oscar-winning 2000 film. We will see Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal during the historical Rome, when Lucius (Mescal) enters the Colosseum to carry out his revenge. The blockbuster is a potential contender for the awards.
Second The place is taken by the movie Wicked: The Enchantress, which will appear on the screens at the same time as Gladiator II – November 22. The movie is based on the Broadway hit of the same name and tells the story of the friendship of witches. On screen, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will play the iconic roles of Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. The film will feature hits like Popular and Defying Gravity, sure to delight fans of the Broadway show.
On third The location hosts the Disney premiere of Moana 2. In the sequel, the main character will go on a new adventure with his companion Maui, exploring the waters of Oceania. Their journey can be seen from 27th November.
Fourth The place is occupied by The Heretic, in which Hugh Grant will test the faith of two young missionaries who end up at his house. However, his methods include a real puzzle house full of deadly games. The film will be released worldwide on November 8, and in Ukraine on November 22.
Fifth The place was taken by the movie Code Name Red. In the story, the head of security at the North Pole (Dwayne Johnson) turns to a famous bounty hunter (Chris Evans) to help him rescue Santa Claus (JK Simmons) from a kidnapper and save Christmas. In the USA the film will be released on November 15, but in Ukraine it will be released on the 7th.
It was previously reported that the film Venom: The Last Dance, starring Tom Hardy, opened in the US with around $51 million in its opening weekend, which was the worst debut of any part of the franchise.
