Following the audit by the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, held last week in South Korea, where a “music industry report” made by HYBE was revealed, 20 pages, of the 18,000 in the report, were leaked on social media, where it is possible to see a series of malicious comments from the company directed at numerous K-pop groups from different companies.
On the night of last Monday, the 28th, new pages appeared on social media, containing criticism of groups such as BLACKPINK, IVE, aespa, SEVENTEEN, NewJeans and RIIZE, from SM Entertainment, in which the conglomerate comments on the pre-debut promotions of the boy group, and criticizes the appearance of some members.
In part of the report shared by Koreaboo, HYBE makes nasty comments about the appearance of Wonbinstating that parts of his face “don’t completely harmonize.”
“Wonbin’s look had already raised eyebrows during KCON because his front and profile photos were noticeably different. The team kept him in a beanie constantly, possibly because although some parts of his face are attractive, they don’t completely harmonize, so style plays an important role for him. Without the additional height of the hat, its proportions were also surprisingly lacking, which may make it difficult for it to fully assume the central role,” the document says.
In relation to Antonthe company praises her height, but makes harsh criticisms related to her dancing ability.
“Anton is actually taller than expected, but he has trouble with dancing. The team apparently went through intense preparation for the ‘Siren’ choreography video, but during Inkigayo, Anton’s weaknesses showed.
There are even talks about whether he will be the next ‘Chanyeol’ type [do EXO]; It’s not just that he’s clumsy — he doesn’t seem to understand the moves well and keeps looking to the other members for tips. It’s uncertain whether training can help him improve, which is a bit worrying.”
Finally, the document ends up belittling the other members of the group, stating that Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan and Sohee they would just be “reserve members”.
“Wonbin and Anton have the most viewed fancams, getting all the attention and major reactions, while the rest of the members feel more like ‘backup’ types or appeal to fans with specific tastes (people pushing for Sohee’s characteristically ‘cute’ look ). This feels like a permanent structure for the team.”
