Does the Floquinho race exist?

Yes! The Floquinho race really exists, and they are impressive animals — but they are not green. Check it out!

Floquinho is, without a doubt, one of the most beloved characters in Turma da Mônica. Cebolinha’s green dog and his family, however, have always generated a huge question among fans of the franchise: does his breed really exist?

If you are part of that group of people who have always wondered if the adorable little animal was just a figment of the incredible imagination of Mauricio de Sousahere is the answer: it exists!

The dog’s breed in real life is called Komondor, but here in Brazil many people only recognize it as Floquinho. Unlike the comics, obviously, it is not green, but contains long white hairs that resemble the dreadlocks that many people wear in their hair.

These dogs tend to be very calm, stubborn, courageous and quite determined, also containing a strong protective instinct. For this reason, he ends up being very fearful of strange people, however, if educated correctly, he ends up becoming a very affectionate animal who really likes children.

As it is a very large and muscular animal, it ends up needing a lot of space and freedom. Preferably, it is good to leave it outside the house, but always have a refuge for when necessary. Furthermore, another recommendation is to take him frequently for long walks, in order to use up all his energy.

However, the Komondor is a dog that cannot be bathed a lot, due to the difficulty in drying its hair. The owners of these animals need to be very firm in their education, but, at the same time, very calm, as they tend to disobey a lot due to their stubbornness.
