Even if it closes the arc experienced by Hardythe post-credits scenes — of which there are two — suggest that the Venom universe is not over!
What happens in the post-credits scenes?
To understand the first of them, it is necessary to remember that if Venom is captured by the creatures of Knull, the creator of the symbiotes, the world could be destroyed, as it would be used to free the supervillain from the prison that will remain for all eternity.
Thus, in the scene shown after the film’s conclusion, it is possible to see Knull’s face (Andy Serkispela) for the first time, in addition to the character’s promise to annihilate everything that exists, now that the host of the alien parasite that gives the film its title is no longer alive — which means that Knull will appear in another Sony Pictures story, the holder of the rights to stories from the Spider-Man universe, created by Marvel.
It is also worth remembering that the director of the film, Kelly Marcelhas previously stated, in an interview with the IGN portal, that this will happen:
We were always aware of Knull, but we knew we needed to lay the groundwork for the Venom character and his relationship with Eddie before introducing him. This is just the beginning for Knull.”
The scene that appears after the names of the entire team and supporters of the feature film are scrolled brings a moment of comic relief by bringing back the bartender played by Christ Fernandez who, right at the beginning of the film, is captured by the army. He only resurfaces in the final moments, when leaving the underground of Area 51 after the tragic battle experienced by the protagonist.
Still, the scene could mean that Venom could appear in future titles. This is because, in the last few seconds, it is possible to observe a cockroach next to the tube that stored one of the symbiotes acquired by the army, which could suggest that just like cockroaches, which are able to survive extreme situations, Venom can also have great resistance and likely survived Brock’s sacrifice to ensure world safety.
“Venom 3 — The Last Round” is directed by Kelly Marcelwho also directed the two previous films in the franchise, in the first alongside Ruben Fleischer and in continuation with Andy Serkis (who now plays Knull). Marcel also continues as a screenwriter and also signs as a producer alongside Hardy. Remember the trailer:
