Eurovision organizers have made changes to the rules, especially regarding participants’ leisure time and political neutrality, to avoid conflicts during the competition.

According to the publication, each participant will have a separate space for privacy and relaxation without the presence of cameras. In addition, the European Language Union (EBU) is introducing a code of conduct that will require participants to remain politically neutral while on stage.
Competition director Bakel Walden emphasized the importance of maintaining neutrality, citing that Eurovision “global conflicts and wars cannot be solved.” The decision comes after the current competition in Malmö has been marred by protests over the war in Gaza and calls for a boycott of Israel.
