The mother of George, Charlotte and Louis looked all smiles for the occasion in a long brown coat and burgundy polka dot silk shirt. William, for his part, sported the same five-day beard as on previous trips, and his wife a matching burgundy sweater. As reported by the BBC, Kate and William spoke to the families of the victims for “about an hour”, showing their “support, sympathy and compassion”.
On the day of the attack, they also posted a message on their social networks to pay tribute to the latter. “As parents. We cannot imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport are going through. We send our love, thoughts and prayers to everyone involved in this horrific and despicable attack,” they wrote in one hand.
