5 places in South Korea to visit if you’re a K-drama fan

Between parks and villages; Discover some places that K-drama fans can’t miss if they travel to South Korea

The dorameiros on duty know South Korea like the back of their hand, after all, several titles of the most varied types of K-dramas show attractions and places that are part of the country’s territory, some of which are unmistakable as they are the backdrop for scenes romantic or dramatic.

With these places in mind, RECREIO put together a list of 5 places in the South Korean country that, in addition to seeing on screen, are a must-see for K-drama fans; check it out:

1. Han River

The setting for “Navillera”, “Abyss”, “Beautiful Love” and more, the Han River is the most important river in South Korea, as well as being one of the largest. You can see it up close at Han River Park, taking advantage of the walk along the river banks, having a picnic or cycling and enjoying all the native vegetation, such as trees and flowers.

2. Lotte World

Theme park, Lotte World is one of the favorite places for K-drama couples, and can be seen in scenes from “True Beauty”, “Business Proposal”, “Love Alarm”, “Hyde Jekyll”, “Stairway to Heaven”, “Me”, and many others. In addition to recreating iconic scenes in photos and videos, you can enjoy the ride on the park’s rides and ice rink.

3. Gyeongbokgung Palace

Seoul’s cultural landmark, Gyeongbokgung Palace is the largest and oldest of the South Korean capital’s imperial palaces, as it was built in 1395 during the Joseon dynasty.

The location can be seen in title sequences such as “Kingdom”, “Goong”, “The Last Empress” and “The Moon Embracing the Sun”, and can be visited for free by those wearing the traditional Korean costume, known as hanbok .

4. Namsan Tower

Also known as N Seoul Tower, Namsan Tower is situated at the highest point in Seoul, allowing the capital of South Korea to be seen in 360 degrees. The building, which is actually a communication and observation tower, was the location for scenes in K-dramas such as “Itaewon Class”, “True Beauty”, “Boys Over Flower” and “The Legend of the Blue Sea”.

5. Bukchon Hanok Village

With traditional houses, museums and cultural centers, Bukchon Hanok Village is the perfect place to feel like K-dramas like “Ghost Doctor”, “Goblin”, “My Roommate is a Gumiho”, “The Heirs”, “Flower of Evil ” and “True Beauty”, as well as allowing you to discover more of the local history.
