Soham Shah has accused the streaming giant of plagiarizing his film Luck and filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York.
Netflix received a lawsuit from Indian director Soham Shah. Bloomberg reported this.
He claims that the series and reality show Squid Game are plagiarisms of his film Luck (2009). According to Shah, the similarity in the plot, characters and events is not a coincidence. In the movie Luck, people in debt compete in deadly games for cash prizes.
Shah filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York, seeking damages and a ban on the show. Netflix has denied the allegations, saying The Squid Game is an original work by screenwriter Hwang Dong-hyuk.
It was previously reported that Sony has released the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance.
Netflix has announced the release date for the second season of The Squid Game
