Discover the theory that links the animations of ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Monsters Inc.’ thanks to two characters
For some years now, it has been no secret to anyone that Pixar films have intertwined stories. This fact was first pointed out through the Pixar Theory, created by writer and journalist Jon Negronireleased in 2013, which developed the theory based on the numerous easter eggs in the productions, and was confirmed by the studio itself some time later.
As a result, to this day, many fans still use their creativity to develop new ideas that can unite the films, or even explain a new order so that they fit into the Pixar Theory. One of them, for example, points out that “Monsters Inc.” would be a prequel to “Toy Story.”
Like this Negronithis theory is also based mainly on easter eggs, with the main evidence being the scene in which, upon returning home, Boo excitedly hands over her favorite toys to Sully, one of which is Jessie, a cowgirl introduced in “Toy Story 2”.
As reported by the ScreenRant portal, the hypothesis suggests that, due to this sequence, it would be possible that Boo and Emily, the doll’s former owner, were the same person, just with different ages.
Despite this, many people end up disagreeing with the possibility due to the physical characteristics of the characters, since the little girl from “Monsters Inc.” has dark hair, and the one from “Toy Story 2” appears to have beautiful red hair. Furthermore, in the flashback in which Jessie’s former owner appears, it is possible to see her adult version discarding the cowgirl, making her significantly older to be the same person as Boo.

Another curious point is that, in the franchise starring Mike Wazowski and Sully, it is possible to see Boo’s real name in one of his drawings: Mary.

Even though they are not the same person, there are still some fans who seek to unite the two films through another theory. According to this new assumption, after Emily got rid of Jessie, Boo would have become the new owner of the doll, and may have received it from a family member, friends, or even at a garage sale.
