The 2024 VMAs took place on Wednesday night, the 11th; find out which awards were won and how the performances of the k-pop groups and soloists went
On the night of last Wednesday, the 11th, k-pop fans were treated to live performances by Lisafrom BLACKPINK, and the girl group LE SSERAFIM, who, in addition to dancing and singing, also went up on stage at the Video Music Awards (VMA) to receive awards, as did SEVENTEEN.
Starting with SEVENTEEN, the PLEDIS Entertainment lineup comprised of S. Coups, The8, Jeonghan, June, Joshua, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino won the Best Group/Band category, which also included *NSYNC, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, NCT Dream, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Twenty One Pilots. However, the artists were unable to attend the ceremony due to their busy schedules.
As for LE SSERAFIM, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae, Kim Chaewon and Miyawaki Sakura were able to take home the trophy in the Best MTV Push category, in addition to having performed the tracks “1-800-hot-n-fun” and “Crazy” at the VMA Pre-Show; check it out!
Already Lisafrom BLACKPINK, won the award for Best K-pop for “Rockstar”, a track that she was able to perform along with “New Woman”, a single released in collaboration with the singer Rosalia. Check it out:
It is worth remembering that the VMA, created by the MTV channel, is one of the biggest international awards in the music industry and this year’s edition took place at the UBS Arena, in New York, in the United States, with the ceremony starting at 7:30 pm (Brasília time).
