In a new video posted to Instagram this Monday, September 9, the Princess of Wales reveals herself like never before, surrounded by her family. Here is the full transcript of his message.
In a long video posted on the official Instagram page of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton shared the long-awaited news of the end of her chemotherapy. In early March 2024, he announced in another video that he was suffering from cancer and was withdrawing from his commitments during treatment. In images posted on social media this Monday, she talks at length about the ordeal of the past nine months, the love between William and her children and the light at the end of the tunnel. Here is his entire message.
“As summer comes to a close, I can’t tell you how relieved I am to finally be done with my chemotherapy.
The past nine months have been incredibly difficult for our family. Life, as you know, can change in an instant and we had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and unknown paths.
Cancer is a difficult, frightening and unpredictable experience for everyone, especially those closest to you.
Humbly, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerability in a way you never considered, and in doing so gives you a new perspective on everything around you.
Above all, this time reminded William and I to reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that most of us take for granted. The simple act of loving and being loved.
Doing everything in my power to stay cancer free is my top priority now. Although chemotherapy is over, the road to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.
However, I am looking forward to getting back to work and a number of other public commitments in the coming months when I can.
Despite everything that has happened before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life.
William and I are very grateful for the support we have received, we have taken a lot of strength from everyone who is helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, compassion and empathy was truly humbling.
To all those on their cancer journey, I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. Light can come from darkness, so let that light shine.”
