K-pop idol and group channels were hacked

Several channels of idols and K-pop groups were hacked and had content supporting former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump

This Thursday, the 5th, YouTube channels of several K-pop artists managed by Big Planet Made Entertainment, includingTaeminfrom SHINee, and the group VIVIZ, were hacked and had their content replaced with videos in support of the former President of the United States and Republican candidate Donald Trump.

As reported by the Koreaboo portal, a video was published on the YouTube channel of BPM Entertainment’s soloists and groups, and also on the agency’s own channel, where it was possible to see in the cover image a montage where the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), Elon Muskjoins a debate between current US presidential candidates, Kamila Harris and Donald Trump. In addition, the profile images of the channels were changed to the logo of Tesla, a company created by Musk.

As a result, BPM shared a statement on X to reassure fans, stating that they were already taking steps to restore the channels’ original content. Read the translation:

Hello,

This is Big Planet Made.

We are aware that our artist’s official YouTube channel was hacked earlier today (5th) and we are working with YouTube to resolve the issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause and will do our best to restore all content as soon as possible.

Thanks.”

At the time of publication of this article, the channels TaeminVIVIZ and BADVILLIAN, as well as BPM’s official account, are now deleted from YouTube.
