An unprecedented detail about the plot of “Batman 2” has been revealed! Last Wednesday, the 4th, the October issue of SFX magazine (via Deadline) brought a chat with the director of the sequel to the plot released in 2021, Matt Reeveswhere he revealed that the new film will address the origins of Gotham’s corruption.
“We shared the script with DC as we were working on it, and they are super excited,” Reeves said. “The film will delve into this epic story of deep corruption and go to places that Bruce Wayne couldn’t have anticipated in the first film.”
He also shared how the series “Penguin,” which premieres September 19 on HBO and Max, relates to the upcoming release, stating that the title starring Collin Farel is the “entry point” for the “Batman” sequel, and that the new title is “absolutely connected to where we left things in the series.”
The director also stated that he wants “these stories to be a meditation on the way Gotham is the way it is. It’s such a brutal place and we’re digging for answers about why these people’s lives are the way they are.”
Furthermore, Reeves also estimated a deadline for the start of filming for the second feature film that features Robert Pattinson as Batman, stating that it will happen in 2025: “The plan is to shoot next year, and we’re finalizing the script now.”
