Despite falling out with his family and repeated concerns about his safety in the United Kingdom, Prince Harry, against all expectations, attended the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes (Lady Jane’s husband, Princess Diana’s sister, Editor’s note), on August 28. An event during which the Duke of Sussex would not speak to his older brother Prince William, who was also present for the occasion.
According to the magazine People Prince Harry will turn to another member of his family, Earl Charles Spencer, Lady Diana’s younger brother. Meghan Markle’s husband, who came alone from the United States, would stay with his uncle at Althorp House, his mother’s childhood home and the earl’s official residence.

Also a highly symbolic place for Prince Harry. After her death in a car accident under Alma Bridge on August 31, 1997, Princess Diana was buried in the gardens of this Northampton estate on an island in the middle of the Round Oval Lake.
“Personal” visit
According to the magazine Page six Prince Harry’s visit was in a “personal capacity” and took place days before the 27th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. A chance for him to come and pay his respects at her grave and pay a more personal tribute to his mother.
In August 2022, during a visit to the United Kingdom, Harry had already returned to Althorp House, then accompanied by Meghan Markle, to visit his mother’s grave. “Visiting this place has never been easy, but this one… the twenty-fifth anniversary. And Maggie’s first time, she tells in her memoirs. I was finally bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mommy.”
