SM Entertainment reveals how long it has known about the case involving former NCT member Taeil

The police investigation into a crime involving Taeil, former member of NCT, was revealed last Wednesday, 28th, with the idol’s departure from the group.

As reported by the Koreaboo portal, in a statement shared with Newsen, a source from SM said that the South Korean entertainment company and the idol discovered the case in mid-August, and that Taeil was questioned by police on August 28.

It is worth remembering that it was after the scandal was discovered that SM decided to withdraw Taeil of NCT. In a statement released yesterday, the 28th, the agency explained: “Upon evaluating the facts related to the matter, we recognize the gravity of the situation and have determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). Furthermore, in the same text, SM assured that Taiel is “cooperating fully with the police investigation” and that further statements will be made by the company as the investigation progresses.

New details about the case were revealed by the Bangbae Police Station, a neighborhood in the city of Seoul, South Korea, which reported that the idol was charged after a police report, filed by an adult woman, and registered in June, alleging sexual assault by Taeil.

The case remains under investigation.
