SM Entertainment has announced that Taeil will be leaving NCT after the idol was charged in a serious criminal case being investigated by the police.
Fans of boy group NCT were surprised this Wednesday, 28th, with the announcement made by SM Entertainment about the departure of the member Taeilof the formation. According to the agency, the idol is leaving the group after being accused of a sexual crime, which the company recognized as serious.

We recently learned that Taeil has been charged in a criminal case related to a sexual crime.
Upon evaluating the facts regarding this matter, we recognize the seriousness of the situation and have determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided to have him leave the group.
Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the police investigation. We will provide further statements as the investigation progresses.
We deeply apologize for the concern and distress caused to our artist.”
Following the announcement, the official accounts of NCT and NCT 127, as well as some members of the group, were unfollowed. Taeil on social media, and the agendas for the next few days Jaehyun, Mark and Haechangroup members, were also changed.
As reported by fans on social media (via Koreaboo), those who had purchased tickets for the fansign Jaehyunas part of the promotions for their solo debut, received a message from Soundwave, the event organizer, announcing the postponement of the schedule due to “unavoidable circumstances”. The message read:

Fan signing event for Jaehyun (JAEHYUN) – 1st Album [J] (J Ver.), which was scheduled to take place on August 29, was temporarily postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
