Find out who, among BTS’s RM, V, Jimin, Jin, Suga, Jungkook and J-Hope, was chosen as the “father” of the formation in 2013
In groups of long-time friends, it is common for the dynamics to be related to that of a family, and thus, some members can be compared to members of a family hierarchy, as happened with BTS in an interview given to the Thai program “SATZONE”, which aired on December 22, 2013, shortly after the debut of the formation, which took place on June 13 of the same year.
At the time, the interviewer suggested a dynamic, where, for each word she said, the members would have to point out someone in the group who best fit the adjective. Thus, the question arose: which of the members is the “father” of the formation? In response, RM, V, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook and J-Hope pointed to Suckswho had also raised his hand volunteering to define himself.
“They chose me as their ‘father’ because I can help them with their mistakes. Ever since we started living together in the dormitory, when something is wrong, they ask me to correct it, which can basically be considered a father’s job,” Suga explained about the choice.
It is worth remembering that, when the group debuted through Big Hit Entertainment, the current BIGHIT MUSIC, it was a small agency compared to SM, YG and JYP Entertainment (known as “BIG 3”) and, at the time, due to the few resources, the septet shared a single dormitory in South Korea. Remember!
In the same chat with “SATZONE”, the group was also asked who is the “mother” among them, and J-Hope was chosen. “I think the reason they chose me is because I nag like a dorm mom,” he explained. J-Hope before Sucks stating with great emphasis that “Arson’s” voice is “irritating”.
Then the members themselves stated that the group had a “grandfather” in BTS, and this was RMthe leader of the formation. The choice surprised the idol, but was soon clarified by Jimin: “Since he took the leadership position, he is like the ‘biggest’ in the dormitory, which is why he is the grandfather.”
