Demi Lovato reveals guilt over her behavior in ‘Camp Rock 2’

In a recent interview, Demi Lovato revealed that she feels guilty about her behavior behind the scenes of Disney’s ‘Camp Rock 2’

This Wednesday, the 14th, the Hollywood Reporter released an exclusive interview with the singer and actress Demi Lovato to talk a little more about his new documentary “Child Star”, which addresses different cases of early fame and child stardom, featuring appearances by big stars in the industry who, like Demialso started very early, as Drew Barrymore (ET The Extraterrestrial), Kenan Thompson (Kenan & Kel), Raven-Symoné (That’s So Raven), Alyson Stoner (Camp Rock), and others.

In the publication, Lovatorecalls her days on the Disney Channel, where she says that at the beginning of her stardom on the channel, “I was filled with gratitude, and there was this sense of wonder and excitement. It was very much the honeymoon phase of my career, right before the train started moving in a way where I couldn’t pump the brakes.”

Among his “Camp Rock” colleagues, Alysonwho played Caitlyn, the character’s best friend. Demiwas the only one who agreed to participate in the production. The report points out that, in one of the most powerful moments of the documentary, Stoner recalls the behavior of Mitchie’s interpreter in the second film, stating that everyone had “a feeling of walking on eggshells” when they were with the protagonist, due to her use of illicit substances and struggles with body image.

Lovato then says that, due to the trauma, he barely remembers the events of “Camp Rock 2”: “I think I was beyond what I could handle emotionally and physically. And I didn’t realize that child stardom could be traumatic — and it’s not traumatic for everyone, but for me, it was.”

The actress and singer continues her speech revealing that, nowadays, she feels enormous sadness when she imagines all the people she treated badly during her time on the Disney Channel, which corresponds to one of the darkest periods of her life.

“I think about the people in the costume department on my TV show [Sunny Entre Estrelas] “Because I would go in there in a bad mood all the time, and I would worry about the guest stars that were on or the other actors, or the people during ‘Camp Rock 2,’” Demi says. “And it’s easy to excuse that behavior because I was so young and I was in so much pain, but I really regret it, and that’s a guilt that stays with you forever.”
