Mette-Marit’s son Marius from Norway admits to assaulting his partner

“Bodily injury and damage”

A week ago, police said they were called to Oslo in the early hours of Sunday, August 4, following an overnight dispute at an apartment. According to the police report, a twenty-year-old man was arrested and released the next day. “Since it was reported in several media that the person (arrested) is Marius Borg Hoiby, the police confirm that the suspect in this case is Hoiby himself.

Marius Borg Hoiby was also suspected of causing “bodily injury and damage”, which he confirmed, although police said they had “no information that the victim was seriously injured”. If the authorities have indeed confirmed the participation of Haakon’s stepson in this case, they did not want to specify the identity of the victim. They only mentioned that it is a woman who has a “relationship” with the suspect. Therefore, that would be Rebecca Helberg.

Crown Prince Haakon’s reaction

Crown Prince Haakon, who was recently in Paris for the Olympics, agreed to speak to the Norwegian media in the French capital on Wednesday, August 7. “It is a serious problem when the police is involved like this,” he said, TV2 website reports. “However, it would not be good for me to comment on this at this time.”

“Psychological and physical violence”.

Two former companions of the young man also spoke on social networks. They thus spoke about their ex-boyfriend’s impulsive and violent character, according to them. Before adding: “I’m not sharing this story to elicit pity or draw attention to myself. It’s just important to confirm what many people are interested in. it has happened before. And this should never happen again, no woman should be subjected to this. So I feel a real responsibility to talk about it.” The model said she is still “traumatized” by the abuse and has been in therapy for years. He also expressed his support to the victim.

I really wanted to help her, save her I wanted her to get better.” Like Juliane Snekkestad, she claimed to have been traumatized by this relationship.

Up to six years in prison

Marius Borg Hoiby was born in 1997, from Mette-Marit’s previous relationship. The latter then married in 2001 the future King of Norway, Crown Prince Haakon. Marius Borg Høiby grew up alongside his half-sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, now 20, and his half-brother, 18-year-old Prince Svere Magnus. But unlike them, he does not have an official public role. If convicted, he now faces up to six years in prison.
