MTV has revealed all the nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, including several K-pop artists; find out who they are!
On Tuesday, the 6th, MTV revealed all the nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, including several big names in Korean pop. Lisafrom BLACKPINK, and Jungkookfrom BTS, lead the list with the most nominations among K-pop artists.
Lisa was nominated in four categories, namely “Best Choreography”, “Best Art Direction”, “Best Editing” and “Best K-pop Song” due to the success of her single “ROCKSTAR”. Jungkook is competing in two categories, “Best Collaboration” and “Best K-pop”, due to the track “Seven”, alongside the rapper Latto.
In the category that includes “Best K-pop Songs”, other groups enter the competition alongside Lisa It is Jungkooksuch as NCT DREAM with the track “Smoothie”, NewJeans with the hit “Super Shy”, Stray Kids with “LALALA”, the title track of their album ROCK-STAR, and TXT with the track “Déjà Vu”. In addition, girl group LE SSERAFIM is participating in the competition for the first time, competing for the “Best Performance” award with the track “EASY”.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will take place in New York City, live from the UBS Arena, on Tuesday, September 10, with live broadcasts in several countries around the world, including Brazil. Voting is now open on the official website and will remain available until August 30th. However, voting for the New Artist category will remain open until the day of the event.
