Hours before carrying the Olympic flame, Rafael Nadal and his son Rafael Junior appeared very excited on the balcony of the opening ceremony in Paris.
This Friday, July 26, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the famous tennis player was in the capital on a very special mission to pass the Olympic flame in preparation for the sporting elite. After receiving it from the hand of football player Zinedine Zidane, he carried the torch several meters before handing it to tennis player Amelie Mauresmo. Less than two hours after his appearance in the Parisian night, he was already seen in the early evening on the terrace overlooking the banks of the Seine, where the event was taking place. Accompanied by the whole family, he took a photo with his one-and-a-half-year-old son, Rafael Junior, enthusiastically enjoying the show.
Give your son a souvenir
The tennis player became a father for the first time in October 2022 with the birth of Rafael Junior from the union with his wife Kiska. The 38-year-old athlete often appears with his little one, who follows him in each of his competitions. Last May, we saw him at Roland Garros against Germany’s Alexander Zverev. Unfortunately, this time he was not lucky, Rafael Nadal lost the tournament.
Furthermore, during a press conference in Madrid last April, Rafael Nadal was asked about the rest of his career and the impact on his family. “I wish I could have played a little longer, and he (his son, Editor’s Note) give me a souvenir, I play tennis. It would be ideal for me, my wife and my family, but I can’t. I probably won’t be able to make it happen. But at least I am happy that I have a great team, family and friends who have surrounded me almost all my life,” he then stated according to Welovetennis.fr website.
