ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin has sued five HYBE executives in response to Source Music’s recent allegations against her; find out!

This Wednesday, 24th, Min Hee JinCEO of ADOR, has sued five HYBE executives in response to recent accusations from Source Music, which allege that she “stole” the members of NewJeans to debut the group under her own label.

South Korean portal Dispatch reported that the allegations were based on messages from the KakaoTalk app which, according to Min Hee Jinwere obtained illegally. ADOR’s CEO has steadfastly denied all allegations, in addition to accusing Source Music of copying her NewJeans release strategy.

After the incident, ADOR released an official statement confirming that Min Hee Jin filed a lawsuit against the CEO of HYBE, Park Ji Wonthe Chairman of the Audit Committee, Lim Soo Hyunthe Legal Director Jung Jin Soothe Financial Director Lee Kyung Joonand Communications Director, Park Tae Hee for defamation; read:

ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and others filed a lawsuit today (July 24) at the Yongsan Police Station against HYBE CEO Park Ji Won, Audit Committee Chairman Lim Soo Hyun, Legal Director Jung Jin Soo, CFO Lee Kyung Joon, and Communications Director Park Tae Hee for defamation. The charges include obstruction of business, unauthorized access to electronic records, and violation of the Law on Promotion of Information Network Utilization and the Law on Communications and Information Protection.

The defendants have repeatedly engaged in the unauthorized disclosure of illegally obtained private message conversations and personal information, maliciously editing them to suit their narrative. In April, the defendants forcibly acquired ADOR’s work laptops under the pretext of “auditing a subsidiary of the parent company” with the intention of removing Min Hee Jin from her position as CEO following her two internal whistleblowing reports. Through this, they obtained personal messages from KakaoTalk. In addition, they illegally examined a laptop that Min Hee Jin had reset and returned in 2022 when she joined ADOR, illegally acquiring non-work-related personal conversations. In addition, the defendant edited and distorted the obtained personal conversations to create and distribute press releases with false information about Min Hee Jin’s management and work performance, thereby generating negative public opinion against her.

Plaintiffs have repeatedly requested, both formally and informally, that Defendants cease these actions, which negatively impact ADOR’s artists and employees while causing public confusion. Despite these requests, Defendants have continued their illegal activities until recently. Consequently, we can no longer stand by and allow the continued harm to our artists and employees, which prompts us to take legal action.
