Check out or remember five iconic mascots from Disney animations that remained alongside the protagonists until the end!
In practically all Disney animations, there is one pattern that stands out: all the protagonists have a mascot that accompanies them until the end of their journey. These companions, which are usually animals, always end up standing out because of their humor and charisma, winning the hearts of fans throughout the plot.
With this in mind, RECREIO has prepared a list of five iconic Disney mascots for you to remember and, who knows, explore again the universes where they were introduced; check it out!
1. Pascal, from Tangled
Pascal, Rapunzel’s pet chameleon in “Tangled”, was the princess’s only companion while she was trapped in the tower. Despite his ability to camouflage himself and his small stature, Pascal chose to remain loyal to the end, supporting Rapunzel in her many hobbies, standing up to Flynn Rider at the beginning of the film and even protecting his friend from Mother Gothel’s terrifying threats.
2. Dug, from Up: High Adventures
The charismatic golden retriever Dug, from the movie “Up”, can express the feelings that all pet owners wish to hear from their pets. Using a bark translation device, Dug is able to communicate and help Russell and Mr. Fredricksen, thus beginning an unlikely friendship between them.

3. Sebastian, from The Little Mermaid
Sebastian, the famous red crab who advises and composes music for King Triton’s court in “The Little Mermaid”, is one of the most iconic mascots in Disney animation. Although he is responsible for keeping Ariel out of trouble, the character often ends up participating in the princess’s reckless plans. In addition, it is Sebastian who sings the song “Here in the Sea”, contributing to the soundtrack that made the film a classic.

4. Mushu, from Mulan
The wise dragon Mushu, who infiltrated the army with Mulan, had only one goal when he chose to accompany the princess on her journey: to regain his status among the family’s ancestors. However, throughout the film, he took on a fundamental role in saving China, whispering advice to the protagonist, as well as firing a rocket at the story’s villain, Shan Yu. Another highlight of the animation is the performance of Eddie Murphy in the character’s dubbing, which became emblematic after its launch.

5. Timon and Pumbaa, from The Lion King
The famous duo Timon and Pumbaa from “The Lion King” are responsible for bringing a lot of humor to the animation. Through the song “Hakuna Matata”, both have become Disney icons, as it is hard to miss the song. In addition, they also play a crucial role in helping the protagonist, Simba, in a time of need, introducing him to a unique and comforting lifestyle.
