“Why didn’t Harry ever come to meet me?” Thomas Markle discusses his loose ties to the Sussexes

He is going to celebrate his 80th birthday. On the eve of his birthday (July 18), Thomas Markle spoke in the columns Daily Mail: , on Sunday, June 23, about her strained relationship with her daughter and Prince Harry. A septuagenarian has announced that Meghan Markle won’t be “in touch” with him when he turns 80. He, who has had no further contact with the Duchess of Sussex since 2018, also explained how “what has happened over the last six years” has tarnished her existence. He was especially interested in the fact that he never knew his son-in-law.

Loss of meaning

In May 2018, Thomas Markle was indeed absent from the Sussex wedding due to heart problems. Prior to the announcement of her hospitalization, the septuagenarian was at the center of a controversy stemming from a fake paparazzi who was paid $100,000 (€93,300), although she complained about press intrusion. In September 2019, the former chief operating officer revealed in a column Daily Mail: that his daughter has cut off all contact with him. As for the Duchess’s comments that she struggled to pay for her university years, Thomas Markle responded: “I’m tired of his lies. I am tired of being slandered and removed from their lives. I have always assumed my fatherly duties.”
