In a video published on his Instagram page, journalist Laurent Delahus, head of a large and mixed family, shares “dad advice” with Omar Sai.
“There really isn’t a manual for being a father.” This observation is by Omar Sai. Next to the show 20:30 Sunday which he attended on April 28, the actor briefly discussed his role as a father of five with Laurent Delahouze, who is the head of a large blended family himself. The exchange, which the latter published on his Instagram account on May 4, with the caption: “Our common point with Omar Sai. big family We’ll give you some dad advice.”
“Fear is lack of time, absences”
For the star of the series Lupine, the secret to good cohesion is to give each child special moments individually, “one at a time”. A point of view shared by the TV presenter. “Having one-on-one moments, especially at pivotal points when things can get a little out of hand, when it’s difficult… Those are important moments,” he affirms, insisting on the fact that “the team spirit, the sharing . of common values, of mutual interaction” is the glue of blended families.
Another topic that the two men touched on. the impact of their profession on their personal lives. “The fear is lack of time, absences. I worked hard for years, 6 days a week,” admits Laurent Delahus. In order to fill these absences, to “keep this connection” with his family, the journalist, in his relationship with actress Alice Taglioni, resorts to “small messages” or “inviting his children to work”.
“My children do not blame me for my absences”
For Omar Sy, “good presence”, that is, the fact of being fully present with his children at a given moment, will allow him to “be able to be absent from time to time”. And in this context, he, who will be one of the jury members of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, can count on strong support: his wife, Helen Sy. Invited to the set of Clique TV presented by Mulud Achur on April 29, Omar Sai did not hide that it was he who allowed himself to find a balance between his family life and professional obligations. “My luck with Helen is that she is doing very well (my absences, editor’s note)., he allows me, but above all he performs well. It could be dramatic for the children, but they don’t have a hard time with the absence. I think they don’t blame me for that, and it’s because of him,” he explained.
